WHAT I BELIEVE SHOULD HAPPEN IN THE CLASSROOM
Students should be comfortable and happy.
The teacher should be comfortable, too.
Teacher and students should listen to each other.
All participants should treat the class and assignments seriously.
All class members should be polite and respectful to everyone in the classroom.
We should also be respectful of our surroundings.
We should try to be mature and responsible.
We should try to be patient and understanding.
We should have some fun.
We should aim to be neat, organized, and efficient.

WHAT I TRY TO ACCOMPLISH IN THE CLASSROOM
Students will become more comfortable and efficient at writing.
Students will improve their writing skills.
Students will learn about the influence of history and culture on literature.
Students will learn research skills.
Students will have many writing opportunities.

WHAT I WILL DO TO REACH OUR GOALS
I will compliment students on their successes.
I will allow students to help make decisions.
I will respect students' opinions.
I will be understanding of students' problems and concerns.
I will ask students to write often.
I will share what I know with my students.
I will show students how I write.
I will show students how I analyze and interpret literature.
I will read and evaluate students' writings.
I will allow students to try as many times as they need to.
I will give students many different opportunities to show what they know and can do.

WHAT STUDENTS MUST DO
Students should complete the assignments on time.
Students should put sincere effort into all our projects and assignments.
Students should be on time for class.
Students should bring necessary materials to class.
Students should complete homework and come to class prepared.
