What is the deadline . . .
The deadline for senior portraits is the same every year: December 1 of the school year. This deadline applies only to seniors who have their pictures taken at outside studios. The official yearbook photographer is Easterling Studios. Easterling will automatically send your picture to the staff. If you choose another studio, be sure to find out how your portrait will be sent to us. Some studios mail them to us; others expect you to deliver it.

When should I schedule . . .
The earlier you schedule your appointment the better. Most studios want to take your portraits in the summer. That's because when school starts they are busy with sports pictures. If you are involved in fall sports, you'll be busy, too. Don't wait too long! Many studios offer discounts or special packages in the summer, too!

Where can I have . . .
Some schools will not print your senior picture unless you use the "official photographer." That's because the studios supply services and materials to the yearbook staff. Even though we don't require that you use Easterling Studios, they provide us with the same services and materials. At Northmont, you may have your senior pictures taken at any studio you choose. If you choose another studio, please follow our specifications.

What should my . . .
Every spring, shortly after Easterling's visit with juniors, the yearbook staff distributes a specifications sheet that details the requirements for senior portraits. If you did not receive a copy in your English class, you can request one by calling Mrs. Roberts at the high school (832-6608). The same handout is distributed in the fall to senior English classes.

How long does it take . . .
For most studios, the time from your sitting to your proofs is at least one month. Then you still need an appointment to look at your proofs and choose a yearbook pose. Allow at least two weeks (or more) for processing and retouching. So from start to finish, about six weeks to two months elapse before your portrait gets to us. If you want to give prints of your senior pictures as Christmas gifts, you must be photographed no later than November 17. So, schedule early!

How can I be in . . .
To be in the composite, you must have your pictures taken at Easterling Studios. They construct the composite from the portraits they take as the official school photographer. Easterling owns the rights to the class composite photograph. You can have a sitting at Easterling for a nominal fee with no obligation to purchase photo packages. Then your photo can be in the composite.

Why are some pictures . . .
For aesthetic purposes, the yearbook staff requires that senior portraits have similar backgrounds and poses. Pictures that do not conform to our specifications in color, size, or composition are placed at the end of the senior section in the book.

What happens if . . .
We try very hard to accommodate every CTC senior. Easterling Studios makes a special presentation at the CTC. We send individual mailings of our handout to CTC students in the fall. If you do not receive a mailing from us, contact Mrs. Roberts at Northmont High School (832-6608).

How can I order . . .
Yearbook orders are handled by the Yearbook Staff at Northmont High School.  Orders can be placed by mailing your order to Mrs. Roberts at the high school (4916 W. National Road, Clayton, Ohio 45315).  Order forms are available in the high school offices and online.   (click here for  order form)
The price to order a 2010 yearbook is $60.00 through March 26, 2010.  Employees of Northmont City Schools receive a $5.00 discount.  $5.00 Discounts are also available to BOB students. Orders can also be placed online.

How do I pick up . . .
Yearbooks are typically delivered in October, as early as we can receive them. Most graduates have siblings or friends who pick up books for them. We are not sure until September of the exact date we will hand out books, so come back to our website to find out. You can also watch the Englewood Independent for an announcement. We can mail your book to you for an additional charge of $10.00.

What about retouching . . .
Retouching is not magic. Only limited corrections can be done by retouching. So . . .
1. Guys, be sure to shave. Your beard regrowth cannot be removed.
2. Start tanning early. Sunburns cannot be removed.
3. Try out new haircuts for a couple of weeks.
4. If you want to be photographed in your glasses, you MUST borrow a lens-less pair of frames from your optometrist. Glare from lenses cannot be removed.

What should I wear . . .
Easterling allows you changes of outfits based on the package you choose. For your yearbook picture, wear darker toned clothing. Vibrant colors are more flattering under the lights and reproduce better in your pictures and in the yearbook. White is never a good choice.
